But you can get to Bridgnorth by railway: National Rail to Kidderminster and then the Severn Valley Railway, one of the most important heritage railway lines in the country, running sixteen miles from there to Bridgnorth. A vital part of the town's infrastructure, the railway operates 362 days a year (it is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day). Each journey takes about 1 and a quarter minutes, and on an average day approximately 200 trips are made. As of May 2024 return tickets cost £2.00 with discounts available for groups of 15 or more.
